Biochar application has received much attention because biochar can be used as an organic amendment. The nutrient release patterns and interactions in straw produced at different temperatures are not well understood. In this study, we observed the of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) interaction between released C, N, P, K from prepared 225 to 600 °C through a 180-day degradation experiment. results showed that rate two kinds was faster first 30 days temperatures, before 300 more rapid, indicating is important turning point. rule highest most rapid than 60% days. rates for were order > N P C. nutrients accompanied decomposition biochar, there exponential relationship amount its mass. These have synergistic effects same path. provide source short term long term. This study suggests returning soil could appropriately reduce input fertilizer early stage.

This study investigated the production of high-performance biochar from swine manure using a sequential carbonization process combining hydrothermal (HTC) and pyrolysis. Biochar produced through HCl-assisted exhibited superior properties, including highest fixed carbon (70.0%), higher heating value (28.48 MJ/kg, ~18.8% increase over HTC-Py), BET surface area (279.66 m2/g, ~17 times than other biochars). These improvements were attributed to catalytic role HCl in promoting dehydration, hydrolysis, decarboxylation, leading more condensed stabilized structure. Furthermore, significantly enhanced heavy metal removal, reducing Zn 343.17 mg/kg (compared HTC-Py 1324.15 mg/kg) lowering Cd, As, Cu, Pb, Ni, Cr by 70–80%, demonstrating effective demineralization. approach presents practical strategy for producing high-quality with improved carbonization, energy pollutant offering potential applications environmental agricultural fields.
