Hydrogen energy is one of the potential solutions for achieving carbon neutrality. Plasma technology plays an auxiliary role in production, transportation, and utilization hydrogen energy. Particularly, plasma, which excited by renewable electrical energy, a green alternative production. This review summarizes plasma field recent years, with focus on plasma’s applications water electrolysis methane cracking, ammonia synthesis. The aiding synthesis catalysts primarily reflected three aspects: etching micro-grooves catalyst substrate, creating vacancies, enhancing atomic modification. In cracking to produce synthesis, improve performance process means combined catalysis. Given importance preparation, we recommend using machine learning-assisted high-throughput screening obtain best theoretical structure then targeted Meanwhile, first-principles calculations should be used clarify catalytic mechanisms catalysts.
