The real-time measurement of the content impurities such as iron and aluminium ions is one keys to quality evaluation in production process high-purity lithium carbonate; however, impurity detection has been a time-consuming for many years, which limits optimisation carbonate. In this context, work explores possibility using water-soluble fluorescent probes rapid ions. Salicylaldehyde was modified with hydrophilic group dl-alanine synthesise Al3+ probe (Probe A). Moreover, Fe3+ B) synthesised from coumarin-3-carboxylic acid 3-hydroxyaminomethane. Probe A B exhibited good stability pH range 4–9 aqueous solutions, high sensitivity, well selectivity Fe3+; were 1.180 1.683 μmol/L, whereas response times low 10 30 s, respectively. Electrostatic potential (ESP) analysis density functional theory calculations identified binding sites fluorescence recognition mechanism; theoretical showed that enhanced emission when detecting due excited intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) effect, quenching electrons turning off through photoelectron (PET) mechanism.

It is challenging and vital to develop coordination polymers (CPs) with an outstanding sensing performance. In this work, CP-based sensors active S N sites are first exploited. Three new Cu-CPs [Cu(L)(SCN)2·2DMF]n (1), [Cu(L)(SCN)·2DMF]n (2), [Cu(L)(CN)·2DMF]n (3) were successfully synthesized by 9,10-bis(di(pyrimidin-5-yl)methylene)-9,10-dihydroanthracene (L) SCN-/CN- ligands. 1 demonstrates a 1D wavelike chain, fabricated L bridges linking Cu(SCN)2 units. 2 exhibits 2D (3,3)-connected network SCN-, 3-connected L, Cu 3 3D framework, built 4-connected centers, CN-, bridges. 1-3 have good water, pH, thermal stabilities. uncoordinated can detect Hg2+ through the fluorescence enhancing ("turn-on") effect. Meanwhile, only has shows negative ability. ultrahigh sensitivity selectivity. The KSV LOD of toward about 5 times superior those 2, separately. represent S- N-rich exhibit excellent "turn-on" capacity. Their mechanism difference performances discussed in detail.
