The Janus phenomenon observed in nature is intriguing and has garnered significant attention within the domain of structural color research. However, there have been no reports with concealed properties. By spraying a layer uniform ZnS spheres on surface inverse-opal photonic crystal (IOPC) films, we developed color-tunable films ability reversibly hiding color. As shown through simulation experimental validation, asymmetric Mie scattering effect results different colors either side film, thereby creating characteristics. Here, IOPC film served as water-responsive switch to conceal or reveal exhibits corresponding band gap hides its characteristics during dry state, while become evident upon wetting. incorporation varying diameters endows patterned enhanced anticounterfeiting ability.
