Abstract The corrosion resistance and mechanical properties directly affects the operation service life of Al 2 O 3 ‐Cr refractories used in waste incinerators. In this study, ZrO particles were introduced via vacuum impregnation to adjust microstructure refractories. results showed that impregnated increasing times resulted decreased median pore size increased compactness, strengths elevated from inhibited cracks propagation by particles. amounts large pores small filled penetration low melting point phases, formed CaZrO phase reactions between reagent viscosity penetrated reagent, resulting index 8.57% 2.58%. Meanwhile, around alumina prevented molten alumina, leading 3.78% .74%. formation primary factors enhanced resistance. And wrapped layers presented prominent effects on strengthened

The corrosion resistance of low-carbon Al2O3–C refractories was improved by a novel preparation method to satisfy the requirements newly developed smelting process. Improving is crucial for extending service life industrial furnaces and reducing carbon emissions. In this study, effects graphite-like h-BN on microstructure, mechanical properties were investigated. results shows that can be adding h-BN. This due fact microstructure material regulated form Sialon structure folded space. Simultaneously, enhanced h-BN, resulting in an increase up 70.3%. According phase change analysis, introduction beneficial avoid formation decarbonized layer promote continuous precipitation Al8B2O15, spinel anorthite. promoted densification slag/refractories interface, thereby hindering slag. Thermodynamic simulations verified introducing generation high-melting-point increased absolute content each reduced. As result, exhibited resistance.
