The time-evolution of dynamics as well microstructure and mechanical response phosphate-based geopolymers was probed using x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy rheological tests. analyzed relaxation processes in the freshly prepared geopolymer mixes evidenced a q-independent mode autocorrelation function, ascribed to density fluctuations already established molecular network, undergoing reconfiguration without significant mass transport. Upon curing, detected motions are localized depict system evolving toward structural arrest dominated by slower hyperdiffusive dynamics, characterized compressed exponential regime, pointing process subjected internal stresses, context marked dynamical heterogeneity. ages through “densification” producing declining small angle scattered intensity, two finely intermixed gel-like reaction products, namely, one hydrated aluminophosphate silica, form percolated network possessing surface fractal scaling progressively shorter average length. In this scenario, nominal Al/P molar ratio mix, being an index network-forming ability, is positively correlated with dynamic viscosity overall kinetics, whereas contrary occurs for fraction water.

Geopolymer technology is considered a strategic alternative for recycling construction and demolition waste (CDW) to produce new products which meet the requirements of environmental energy sustainability. The separation management CDW fractions still technological complex process and, even if large-scale quite common, necessity perform this treatment may reduce economic benefits reuse. So, very promising option represented by manufacturing geopolymers using unseparated CDW. In aim, deriving from cement-based mortars, bricks natural stones have been selected widely characterized mineralogical, chemical morphological point view. Then, geopolymer mortars were produced several amounts either single fraction or mixture waste. chemical, physical, mechanical, microstructural characterization geopolymer-produced was carried out assess how combination different quantities mixed affected final properties. particular, geopolymeric unselected showed higher mechanical properties, despite lower apparent density, when compared improvement features seems be not amount used, providing encouraging findings promote actual use with resulting enhancement benefits.

This study investigates the reactivity of municipal solid waste incineration residues to aqueous carbonation, focusing on CO2 absorption rates, uptakes, and heavy metal (HM) leachability. Various combinations boiler, electrofilter, bag filter were assessed under typical conditions. Bag from lime-sorbent plants exhibited highest uptake (244.5 gCO2/kg), while bottom ash (BA) fine fraction, boiler/electrofilter fly (FA), other mixed air pollution control residue (APCr) demonstrated uptakes 101, 0, 93, 167 gCO2/kg, respectively. Carbonation kinetics revealed that high calcium content FA APCr, followed similar trends. Notably, BA carbonation was predominantly driven by Ca-aluminates rather than lime. reduces leaching Al, As, Cd, Co, Cu, Ni, Pb Zn compared water washing, though significant concerns arise with anions such as Sb Cr. In BA, critical behaviours Cr, Mn, Fe observed, Cr likely controlled Fe-Mn-Cr oxide particle dissolution. These findings highlight potential integrating enhanced recovery (EMR) through density or magnetic separation in prior reduce HM recycle metals (Ag, etc).
