Abstract Foamed ceramics were prepared by the water spray granulation and post particle stacking method using coal gangue as main raw material. The effects of material weight ratio (i.e., composition varying content dolomite talc), calcination temperature, time, heating rate on pore structure properties samples investigated foaming mechanism foamed was revealed. crystalline phase mainly consisted quartz, anorthite, enstatite. decrease increase talc in materials led to initial then size dispersion coefficient, while apparent porosity absorption gradually decreased, density increased. sample with a gangue:waste glass:dolomite:albite:talc 65:5:10:10:10 calcined at 1200°C for 10 min 1°C/min has optimized uniform structure. This study provides high value‐added utilization gangue, experimental basis preparation low‐cost ceramics.
