High-entropy alloys (HEAs) provides a new way to develop materials with adjustable performance due their unique cocktail effect. Inspired by HEAs, ceramic material high-entropy effect has been developed, which was named ceramics (HECs). With the introduction of concept entropy stability, research on HECs developed rapidly. At present, extended traditional such as thermomechanical performance, oxidation resistance, and magnetic properties, well emerging catalytic optical radiation resistance. Based definition HECs, this paper reviews crystal structure preparation methods supplements simulation calculation descriptors is suitable for HECs. In paper, at stage divided into fields according application fields. A variety regulation are reviewed, development directions prospected.
