Abstract Potential applications of known compounds from the V 2 O‐Y O 3 system, i. e. YVO 4 , Y 8 17 and 10 20 were inspiration to undertake research, main goal which was determine whether unknown phases solid solution type are formed in this system. Solid solutions still sought‐after because their properties depend on chemical composition. In work it experimentally demonstrated that a new substitute with formula 2‐x x 3+x (0.00<×<0.60) is mixtures 5 as result mechanochemical synthesis. Its examined by using, i.a. XRD (X‐ray diffraction) UV‐Vis‐DRS (ultraviolet‐visible light spectroscopy diffusion reflectance) methods. It found among other things, crystallizes regular exhibits structure thermally stable up at least 800 °C (for x=0.40). Moreover, estimated value band gap width indicated belongs class semiconductors. The study dielectric phase performed means broadband spectroscopy. obtained measurement data showed presence relaxation mechanisms. activation energies processes related electric conductivity calculated.

Metal vanadates are a developing group of semiconducting metal oxide materials that gaining increasing attention due to their great redox potential, effective separation photogenerated electron–hole pairs, and tunability structural physicochemical properties. Their rational design as photocatalysts can find use in various applications, including energy conversion/storage environmental remediation. In particular, one the viable ways address energy-related issues be through sustainable production hydrogen (H2), clean fuel produced by photocatalysis using vanadates.
