Due to the significant amount of solid waste generated annually in China, rational use these wastes has become increasingly important. The production foam ceramics is considered an effective method for large-scale utilization such waste. In this study, granite sawing mud was selected as raw material, with SiC and MnO2 serving foaming agent prepare ceramics. behavior sintered samples using different investigated determine most suitable type obtaining excellent pore structures. Additionally, effects on structure physical mechanical properties were studied detail. results showed that both resulted pronounced expansion extent, increasing content enhances expansion. best dosage 1%, optimum additive 2–3%. For SiC, oxidation reduction reaction occurred between O2 generate CO2/CO. MnO2, firstly, Mn2O3 occurred, then dissolved glass melt and, subsequently, Mn3+ reduced Mn2+, leading gas formation foaming. Under same preparation conditions, sample prepared blowing higher compressive strength, lower water absorption, a more uniform structure.
