Abstract Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water‐splitting is an energy‐efficient and eco‐friendly technique to produce green hydrogen (H 2 ). Here, WO 3 synthesized for saline reaction. Initially, the activity of enhanced through morphology tuning. Nanoparticles (NPs), thick nanosheets (TSs), nanoflakes (NFs) are synthesized, their PEC determined. The NFs show a photocurrent density 1.53 mA/cm at 1.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl, whereas TSs NPs can generate 1.17 1.07 respectively. low charge transportation rate inhibits performance these in reactions. To mitigate this problem, type‐II heterojunction constructed with optimized deposition ZnWO 4 on 3, which favors migration charge‐carriers opposite directions, facilitating charge‐carrier separation eventually enhancing activity. shows 1.5 times greater than bare 2.4 carrier density, 2.16×10 21 cm −3 . heterostructure‘s rapid OCP decay higher injection efficiency indicate improved transport capability, primary driving force stability /ZnWO studied one hour.
