Neurons in an excitable mode do not show spiking activity and, therefore, contribute to information transfer transmission and its processing. However, some external influences, coupling, or time delay can lead the appearance of oscillations individual systems networks. The main goal this paper is uncover connection parameters influences that arising behavior a small network locally coupled FitzHugh–Nagumo oscillators. In study, we analyze dynamics absence presence several types influences. First, consider impact periodic-pulse exposure generated as periodic sequence Gaussian pulses. Second, what be induced by far less regular pulsed influence (Lévy noise) special case called white noise. For all have identified appropriate (local coupling strength, intensity, frequency) induce network.

We explore chimera states in a ring of nonlocally coupled type-I excitable phase oscillators, with each isolated oscillator being restricted to homogeneous equilibrium state. Our study identifies the presence breathing states, characterized by their oscillatory dynamics and periodic fluctuations global order parameter. Beyond single coherent cluster, we find 2n-cluster where 2n represents an even number clusters. These exhibit varying difference between adjacent clusters consistent among separated one intermediate cluster. The is found be modulated relative coupling radius. for finite oscillators are well confirmed Ott-Antonsen ansatz. locked icon Physics Subject Headings (PhySH)Chimera statesCoupled oscillatorsSynchronization

In this article, we consider the influence of a periodic sequence Gaussian pulses on chimera state in ring coupled FitzHugh-Nagumo systems. We found that way to complete spatial synchronization, one can observe number variations states are not typical for parameter range under consideration. For example, following modes were found: breathing chimera, with intermittency incoherent part, traveling strong intermittency, and others. comparison, here also impact harmonic same preserve generality conclusions, compare regimes caused by both purely positive positive-negative one.
