As a primary sink of pollutants, urban soil heavy metal pollution and its influence on residents ecosystems has been becoming one the most important environmental problems. In present study, four indices, Geoaccumulation index (Igeo), improved Nemerow (IMN), degree contamination (mCd), security (CSI), as well potential ecological risk (RI), were used to evaluate individual or integrated for samples collected from city parks, vicinity landfill, an industrial area within Guangzhou. The results indicated that (IMN) calculated was suitable assessment soils landfills areas. (mCd) more than IMN. Heavy metals Cd, Hg, Zn, main elements in Potential risks mainly caused by Cd Hg Soil parks moderately highly even extremely seriously polluted metals. Differing traditional cognition public, impact landfill similar better parks.

Abstract Contamination of farmland soils by trace elements (TEs) has become an international issue concerning food safety and human health risks. In the present research, concentrations TEs including cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn) iron (Fe) in 16 farmlands were determined Gonabad, Iran. addition, risks due to exposure from assessed. Moreover, soil contamination likelihood was evaluated based on various indices factor $$(\mathrm{CF}$$ ( CF ), enrichment (EF), geo-accumulation index (Igeo), pollution load (PLI) calculations. The mean for Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn Fe ranges as 0.102, 6.968, 22.550, 29.263, 475.281, 34.234, 13.617, 54.482 19,683.6 mg/kg soils. decreased order > Mn Ni Cu Cr Pb Co As Cd. Levels all metals this study within FAO/WHO Iranian standards. HQ values investigated adults children studied farms less than limit 1, indicating no subpopulations. results research indicated significant carcinogenic hazards both through ingestion, skin contact inhalation routes. $$\mathrm{CF}$$ 100% 6.25% above showing moderate conditions. EF recorded “no enrichment”, “minimal enrichment” “moderate classes. Furthermore, it can be concluded that uncontaminated except (moderately contaminated) Igeo. This is indication selected agricultural have appreciable threat health.

Heavy metal(loid)s (HMs) play an important role in economic development since they are used various branches of industry. However, all industrial activities emit HMs into the environment, where no longer useful but potentially toxic. It has been observed that enter soil and sediment, potential human health risk may arise due to their excessive accumulation. Having mind importance assessing these media, we analyzed published works last decade created a summary exposure factors models for sediment. This analysis revealed remarkable increase number publications about assessment HMs, especially few years. Since many differences values distributions were noted, this study focused on elucidating differences. Non-carcinogenic carcinogenic evaluated through deterministic approach is prevalent use, probabilistic one, which gaining more attention research. In end, guided by studied literature, propose factors.
