Silver nanoparticle-modified electrodes for the electrochemical detection of neonicotinoid pesticide: clothianidin DOI

A. Kumaravel

Analytical Methods, Journal Year: 2022, Volume and Issue: 14(45), P. 4643 - 4648

Published: Jan. 1, 2022

For the first time, stable silver nanoparticles with a diameter less than 20 nm were prepared using SDS as reducing and stabilizing agent characterized, then used to construct modified electrodes. The developed electrodes are more catalytically active towards reduction of clothianidin. Clothianidin undergoes at -300 mV vs. Ag/AgCl on nanoparticle-modified electrode, whereas no peak was observed bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE). detection limit found be 2.4 nM. potential limits reported in this work lower ever literature. analytical validity clothianidin tested tomatoes. Validation electrochemical results has been achieved by comparing them HPLC results. There is good agreement between those obtained HPLC. proposed sensor opens up new possibilities for sensing environmental samples.
