Irrational
land
use

The
key
ecological
functional
zone
plays
a
significant
role
in
maintaining
ecosystem
security,
water
conservation

urbanization,
some
zones
have
undergone
great
changes

use,

landscape
pattern
characteristics

area

Middle
Route
China's
South–to–North
Water
Diversion
Project
is
selected
as
case
study.
A
risk
index
(ERI)
was
constructed
evaluate

by

ERI's
spatiotemporal

investigated
using

risks

found
that

Watershed
ecological
security
(ES),

sustainable

established
an
integrated
assessment
system
based
on
cause–effect

Ecosystem
