Irrational land use is a key factor in triggering regional landscape ecological risk (LER). Existing studies have focused on the relationship between change and LER, but it still unclear how to prevent through optimal allocation (LUOA). To fill these gaps, this study innovatively designs research framework that follows logic of “risk assessment – suitability potential identification avoidance”. Using methods such as LER index, (LUS) evaluation model spatial overlay analysis, investigates path feasibility prevention from perspective LUOA. The Yellow River Delta (YRD) with frequent interactions society ecosystem taken case study. results are follows: (1) There was an inverse comprehensive LUS YRD. In inland areas YRD, relatively stable, while characterized by multi-suitability. coastal level generally high, single unsuitability; (2) development (LUCDP) significant distribution trend increased areas. This pattern reflects different orientations positive interaction nature support areas; (3) After conducting LUOA, cultivated land, forest grassland 395 km2, 196 174 respectively. wetlands, construction unused 32 248 319 recalculation, above scheme can LER. summary, present offered new approach for achieving mutually beneficial outcome management optimization, which river estuary China world.

The key ecological functional zone plays a significant role in maintaining ecosystem security, water conservation function and environmental protection. However, owing to rapid industrialization urbanization, some zones have undergone great changes land use, which has changed the landscape pattern characteristics resulted risks, affecting regional environment security. In this study, core source area of Middle Route China's South–to–North Water Diversion Project is selected as case study. A risk index (ERI) was constructed evaluate driven by use transformation. Moreover, ERI's spatiotemporal were investigated using combination geographic information systems geostatistical techniques, reveal dominant types associated with risks their causes. We found that (1) there not notable shift level increased slightly from 2010 2015. conversion previously unproductive into places for industrial production agricultural productive played phenomenon. From 2015 2020, Danjiangkou Reservoir officially started operation. Furthermore, improvement residents' awareness protection natural forest significantly reduced risk. (2) strong positive autocorrelation, exhibiting high east center, low west periphery. (3) An obvious corresponding relation exists between impacts topography, soil, climate on patterns Additionally, strict policies implemented Chinese government realized remarkable achievements promoting risks. Our study can provide decision–making basis local authorities conduct prevention activities ensure sustainable northward flow clean water.

Watershed ecological security (ES), which is fundamental to regional sustainable development, consists of risk (ER), ecosystem health (EH), and services (ESs). It remains unclear how describe the status ES by integrating three key characteristics, little known about differences among factors driving ER, EH, ESs, ES. Here, we established an integrated assessment system based on cause–effect relationship ESs. We quantified characteristics in Huaihe River Basin China 2020 pinpointed (i.e., natural environment, urbanization, accessibility) their spatial differentiation using Geodetector model. Results showed that: (1) study area, ER EH were at average level, ESs high level. (2) had positive correlations (Moran' I > 0.60), with having strongest dependence. (3) Natural environmental predominantly influenced Slope was primary driver for (q-value = 0.492 0.395, respectively), vegetation coverage major 0.506). (4) mainly urbanization factors, proportion construction land area exhibiting highest explanatory power 0.751), interaction being 0.836). This provides new ideas methods ES, holds implications protection management ecosystems.

Ecosystem services and ecological risk prevention are important factors that influence for sustainable socio-economic development. In recent years, fewer studies, practices have been conducted on the value of ecosystem management in larger regions, mechanisms their interactions not adequately investigated.
