Abstract The presence of antibiotics in wastewater discharges significantly affects the environment, mainly due to generation bacterial populations with multiple antibiotic resistances. cometabolic capacity nitrifying sludge simultaneously remove ammonium (NH 4 + ) and emerging organic contaminants (EOCs), including antibiotics, has been reported.
