Owing to the environmental pollution caused by petroleum-based packaging materials, there is an imminent need develop novel food materials. Nanocellulose, which a one-dimensional structure, has excellent physical and chemical properties, such as renewability, degradability, sound mechanical good biocompatibility, indicating promising applications in modern industry, particularly packaging. This article introduces nanocellulose, followed its extraction methods preparation of relevant composite films. Meanwhile, performances nanocellulose films improving mechanical, barrier (oxygen, water vapor, ultraviolet) thermal properties materials development biodegradable or edible industry are elaborated. In addition, composites for preservation various categories outlined. study provides theoretical framework utilization industry.

This study investigates the toxicity of methanolic extracts obtained from compostable plastics (BPs) and conventional (both virgin recycled). Additionally, it explores potential influence plastic photodegradation composting on toxic responses using a battery in vitro assays conducted PLHC-1 cells. The BPs, but not those plastics, induced significant decrease cell viability (<70%) cells after 24 h exposure. Toxicity was enhanced by either or BPs. Extracts particularly recycled 7-ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) activity micronucleus formation exposed cells, indicating presence amounts CYP1A inducers genotoxic compounds extracts, which photodegradation. These findings highlight importance investigating effects degradation mechanisms such as sunlight It is also crucial to investigate composition newly developed formulations for they may be more harmful than ones.

While providing considerable societal and economic benefits, plastic packaging leads to global pollution poses health risks. Plastic additives like alkylphenols (APs) can interfere with endocrine functions even at low concentrations. Therefore, developing validating analytical methods for their routine dosage in foods is paramount. The present work validated a chromatographic method quantify (4-tert-octylphenol, 4-n-octylphenol mono-ethoxylate, 4-n-octylphenol, 4-n-nonylphenol) milk. uses Chem Elut S rapid supported liquid extraction (SLE) cartridges eliminate the matrix effect, reverse phase chromatography linked Diode Array Detector (DAD) alkylphenols. was using strategy of accuracy profiling, decision-making instrument that calculates method’s total error, encompassing bias standard deviation. reliability test defined by lack retention times APs interfering peaks, close linear relationship between independent dependent variables regression model, excellent precision each concentration level intra-day inter-day measurements, errors procedure (systematic random) estimated within pre-established acceptability limits (±10%). minimal environmental impact ease execution suggest its use analyses.
