Emerging aryl organophosphate esters (aryl-OPEs) have been employed as substitutes for organohalogen flame retardants in recent years; however, their environmental occurrence and associated impacts urban estuarine sediments not adequately investigated, impeding regulatory decision-making. Herein, field-based investigations modeling based on surface sediment core analysis were to uncover the historical pollution current of aryl-OPEs Pearl River Estuary, South China. Our results revealed a substantial increase aryl-OPE emission, particularly emerging aryl-OPEs, through transport estuary since 2000s. The comprised 83% total annual input past decade, with an average 155,000 g. Additionally, emerging-to-traditional concentration ratios increased decreasing distance from shore, peaking highly urbanized riverine outlets. These findings indicate that inventories are likely increasing emissions surpassing those traditional aryl-OPEs. risk-based priority screening approach indicates some bisphenol A bis(diphenyl phosphate), can pose higher risk than sediments. Overall, our study highlights importance recognizing

Glyphosate has been widely used in agricultural production as a highly effective, low-toxic, broad-spectrum organophosphorus herbicide. However, there controversy about whether it is toxic to the nervous system. In order explore this issue depth, present study analyzed molecular mechanism of action glyphosate from four perspectives, namely, gene regulation, protein expression, morphological changes, and behavioral assessed potential effects on development system zebrafish through establishment model. The results showed that embryos at 6 hpf after fertilization were exposed until 72 120 hpf. After exposure, was found central development-related Elavl3 down-regulated, GAP-43, Neurog1, GFAP up-regulated. expression HuC protein, which maintain neuronal axonal homeostasis, significantly reduced, repair neurological damage inflammation, increased. Under regulation related genes proteins, larvae show abnormal changes during series systems such heart rate slowing, somite shortening, spinal brain malformations. At same time, zebrafish's behavior also changed, with significant decrease its total time share low-speed shift high-speed states, delayed response dark-light environmental stimuli. summary, studies have shown exposure may induce inflammation system, resulting developmental malformations, motor behavior, neurotoxicity. Therefore, possible neurotoxicity risks aquatic animals should not be ignored great concern.

Throughout their lives, humans encounter a plethora of substances capable inducing neurotoxic effects, including drugs, heavy metals and pesticides. Neurotoxicity manifests when exposure to these chemicals disrupts the normal functioning nervous system, some agents have been linked neurodegenerative pathologies such as Parkinson's Alzheimer's disease. The growing concern surrounding impacts both naturally occurring man-made toxic necessitates identification animal models for rapid testing across wide spectrum concentrations, utilization tools detecting system alterations spanning from molecular level up behavioural one. Zebrafish (Danio rerio) is gaining prominence in field neuroscience due its versatility. possibility analysing all developmental stages (embryo, larva adult), applying most common "omics" approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics, etc.) conducting range tests makes zebrafish an excellent model neurotoxicity studies. This review delves into main experimental adopted markers analysed studies zebrafish, showing that phenomena can be triggered not only by chemical but also fluctuations temperature. findings presented here serve valuable resource study define new scenarios ecotoxicology suggesting temperature synergistically compound effects substances, intensifying detrimental impact on fish populations.
