26% of the world's population lacks access to clean drinking water; water and sanitation are major global challenges highlighted by UN Sustainable Development Goals, indicating security in public systems is at stake today. Water monitoring using precise instruments skilled operators one most promising solutions. Despite decades research, professionalism-convenience trade-off when ubiquitous metal ions remains challenge for safety. Thus, overcome these disadvantages, an easy-to-use highly sensitive visual method desirable. Herein, innovative strategy one-to-nine detection proposed, which a novel thiourea spectroscopic probe with high 9-metal affinity synthesized, acting as "one", detected based on 9 metal-thiourea complexes within portable spectrometers field; this accomplished nonspecialized personnel also required. During processing multimetal analysis, issues arise due signal overlap reproducibility problems, leading constrained sensitivity. In endeavor, machine learning (ML) algorithms were employed extract key features from composite spectral signature, addressing multipeak overlap, completing 30-300 s, thus achieving limit 0.01 mg/L meeting established conventional quality standards. This provides convenient approach safety testing.
