Currently, solid waste storage systems generate secondary pollutants such as leachates, derived from rainwater infiltration or produced during their storage, which affect water quality, human health, and the environment. This study evaluated a bioremediation system for leachates “Rancho Triste” landfill using Spirulina sp. microalgal strain. Its rapid adaptation to leachate was identified through respirometry based on CO2 measurement, allowing modeling of Log-Normal Peak Shifted with Offset function. Tests conducted in 0.5 L reactor determined an optimal treatment time 10 days, achieving removals 87.17% iron, 28.96% magnesium, 90.74% manganese. Subsequently, 23 factorial design implemented optimize reduction chemical oxygen demand (COD), evaluating agitation, lighting, nitrogen supplementation, COD removal efficiency exceeding 50% under conditions. The fed-batch technique enabled enrichment microbiological populations, which, together bio-stimulation, bioventilation, photoperiods, demonstrated scalability bioprocess significant metallic recalcitrant contaminants present leachate. approach proposes ecological alternative potential application industries aiming carbon neutrality transformation high-effluent volumes.

Abstract This article focuses on comparing the characteristics of cotton fabric dyed with Diospyros mollis extract (DME) solution and that reactive dye. The parameters after dyeing both types dyes were assessed, including color strength (K/S), structural morphology, infrared spectrum, antibacterial properties, UV resistance, fastness to washing, rubbing, light, moisture absorption, breathability, wastewater indices. obtained results show K/S value DME is slightly lower than dye, 18.52 19.36, respectively. dye does not exhibit activity against Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus , whereas effectiveness these bacteria for 99.99 %. protection capability superior BOD/COD ratio from process higher values 0.70 0.32, findings this study indicate ability using as compared which promising a natural in medical applications.

Collagen is a non-toxic polymer that generated as residual product by several industries (e.g., leather manufacturing, meat and fish processing). It has been reported to be resistant bacteria have excellent retention capacity. However, the recovered collagen does not meet requirements used for pharmaceutical medical purposes. Due scarcity of water resources now affecting all continents, pollution major concern. Another field could integrate by-product wastewater treatment. Applications collagen-based materials in treatment discussed detail, comparisons with already frequently made. Over last years, tested removal both organic substances, dyes) inorganic compounds heavy metals, noble uranium). They also manufacture oil-water separation materials; therefore, they emulsified oily wastewater. Because analysed wide range good candidates removing contaminants from streams seasonal variations composition concentration. The use makes method eco-friendly cost efficient. This paper discusses some challenges related treatment: material stability, reuse disposal. results showed are renewable reusable without significant loss initial properties. In sorption processes, incorporation experiments real demonstrated there competition among substances present sample.
