While chemical use underpins modern society, it also presents a complex environmental challenge. Recognizing the limitations of traditional single-chemical assessments, chemistry is shifting toward characterizing and understanding risks posed by mixtures. Organisms are exposed to multitude chemicals simultaneously, potentially leading synergistic or additive effects not captured individual compound analyses. This work highlights advanced analytical techniques for identifying, characterizing, monitoring classes hazardous compounds within matrices. We emphasize importance integrating analysis with toxicological data elucidate combined mixtures, ultimately informing more effective risk management strategies.
