Abstract The present work investigates the treatment of wastewater containing an antibiotic, ciprofloxacin (CIP), using acoustic cavitation (AC) coupled with other advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). For laboratory scale degradation study, operating parameters like drug concentration, pH, and initial temperature were initially optimized then used in hybrid approach AC combination AOPs. At 15 m/L neutral pH 7, ambient 30°C, optimum CIP 13.66% was obtained within 120 min operation. intensification AC‐based subsequently achieved oxidants H 2 O , potassium persulphate (KPS), 3 . KPS resulted 44.30% 35.41% degradation, respectively, while combined ozone almost complete 90 a maximum cavitational yield 4.761 × 10 −6 mg/J. cost estimation for approaches revealed that is best process least operational 8.7 Rs/L (105 US $/m ). Complete + based at much lower costs opens window implementation pharmaceutical industries.
