In the 21st century, global agriculture confronts urgent challenge of increasing food production by 70% 2050 while simultaneously addressing environmental and health concerns. Plastics, integral to agricultural innovation, present sustainability challenges due their non-biodegradable nature contribution pollution. This perspective examines transition bioplastics, emphasizing bio-based origin crucial characteristic being readily biodegradable in soil. Key bioplastics such as poly(lactic acid) (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), biomass-derived polymers are discussed, particularly regarding microplastic generation soil resulting from use specific applications like mulch films, delivery systems, conditioners. Embracing signifies a significant step forward achieving sustainable plastic waste. However, it is highlighted that some can be recovered recycled, special where intimate contact with pose for recovery. these cases, represent more than 50% plastics used agriculture, meticulous design biodegradation synchronized cycles necessary. approach ensures minimal impact promotes circular agriculture.
