Background/Objectives:
Childhood
trauma
has
a
documented
impact
on
development,
and
may
also
affect
functioning
well-being
in
transition-age
youth
(TAY).
There
is
need
to
explore
approaches,
such
as
trauma-informed
care
(TIC),
enhance
the
services
provided
during
transition
adulthood.
The
objective
of
this
scoping
review
was
extent
literature
potential
TIC
for
supporting
TAY.
Methods:
We
focused
initiatives
grounded
support
TAY
between
ages
14
25
who
have
histories
trauma.
search
strategy
involved
nine
databases
gray
literature.
titles,
abstracts,
full
text
were
screened
duplicate
by
reviewers,
then
data
extracted.
Results:
A
total
19
references
included
classified
into
three
categories:
(1)
importance
(k
=
5);
(2)
description
6);
(3)
evaluation
2).
Seven
more
than
one
category.
10
models
or
initiatives,
half
which
evaluated
showed
promising
results.
Important
components
staff
training
support;
collaborative
multidisciplinary
work;
systemic
changes;
addressing
its
impacts;
strength-based
youth-focused
approach.
Conclusions:
emphasizes
acknowledging
responding
advances
core
context
TA,
including
nature.
Although
we
cannot
conclude
that
effective
TA
at
moment—given
still
early
stages—the
shows
it
least
promising.
Limitations,
well
future
lines
work
are
discussed.

studies
that
define
success
primarily
through
survival,
sobriety,
avoidance
re-trafficking,
highlights
aspirations
these
adolescents,
emphasizing
critical
role
education
general
wellbeing,
mitigation,
underscores
importance
prioritizing
attainment
long-term
design
programs
survivors
trafficking.
