The aim of this study was to summarize the existing evidence about effectiveness double defibrillation (DD) in comparison standard for patients with refractory ventricular fibrillation (RVF). DD encompasses "sequential" external (DSeq-D) and "simultaneous" (DSim-D), also shedding light on respective effects DSeq-D DSim-D.

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains a prominent medical concern worldwide. Epidemiologic metrics and trends over time for OHCA cases in Canada are not well defined. This study evaluated geographic differences the incidence outcomes of patients admitted to hospitals across Canada, during period 2013-2017. population-based retrospective cohort included 10,492 nontraumatic aged 2-85 years (66% male) who were an acute-care hospital any Canadian province or territory (excluding Quebec) between 2013 2017. Overall age- sex-standardized measures (per 100,000 population per year) calculated through direct standardization 2016 population. Temporal survival discharge evaluated. The overall was 8.3 year, which did change significantly from 2017 (incidence rate ratio: 1.01, 95% confidence interval: 0.99-1.02). highest British Columbia (9.2 year), Manitoba (9.0 Nova Scotia lowest New Brunswick (6.5 Prince Edward Island (6.8 Saskatchewan (7.5 year). proportion survived (57%) Ontario (38%). No significant trend rates observed (43%) (42%; P = 0.86). hospital, their outcomes, stable 2017, with considerable variation noted regions.
