In the present study, ultra-small, magnetic, oleyl amine-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles were synthesized and stabilized with a cationic ligand, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, an anticancer drug, methotrexate, was incorporated into micelle-like nanoparticle structure for glioblastoma treatment. Nanoparticles further characterized their physicochemical properties using spectroscopic methods. Drug incorporation efficiency, drug loading, release profile of investigated. According to results, max efficiency% 89.5 found 25 µg/mL methotrexate-loaded nanoparticles. The cumulative amount methotrexate released reached 40% at physiological pH 85% 5.0 up 12 h. toxicity efficacy also studied on U87 cancer L929 cells. IC50 concentration reduced cell viability 49% in 72% cellular uptake be 1.92-fold higher than total apoptosis% cells estimated ~10-fold what observed inhibited motility prevented metastasis lines. Overall, designed are promising controlled delivery system achieve better therapeutic outcomes.

Abstract Cationic cetyltrimethylammonium (CTAB) is an effective and common intercalator for interlayered modification in layered materials, while its biotoxicity remains issue. To improve biosafety biocompatibility of the drug delivery system, nontoxic chitosan (CS) was introduced into CTAB‐modified kanemite (Ka‐CTAB). Accordingly, obtained Ka‐CTAB/CS further used as a carrier methotrexate (MTX). Various characterizations were employed to investigate system based on Ka‐CTAB/CS. Results revealed that loading capacity MTX about 13.47%, exhibited slow sustained release drugs either phosphate buffer solution (pH = 7.4) or HCl 1.35). The introduction CS not only replaced part CTAB composition but also prevented molecules falling off during drug‐releasing process. In methyl orange dye assay, concentration free shed from low 8.09 × 10 −7 mol/L after 24 h. vitro cell viability assay using HepG2 cells, lower cytotoxicity compared previous Ka‐CTAB.
