Abstract Background: Although 2-methylbutyrylcarnitine (2MBC) has been associated with metabolic disorders and promotes thrombosis, its effect on atherosclerosis remains elusive. This study was aimed at investigating the role of 2MBC in development. Methods Results: Apolipoprotein E-deficient (ApoE −/− ) mice were fed a Western diet for 18 weeks to induce atherosclerosis, then administered once-daily gavage or vehicle weeks. Parameters systemic lipid metabolism detected. did not upregulate plasma total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high-density (HDL-C) levels, triglycerides (TG) levels further upregulated Western-diet-induced treated 2MBC, thus suggesting that this compound may contribute hypertriglyceridemia. In addition, had no development, as evidenced by alterations plaque area, exacerbation local inflammation, effects stability. RAW264.7 macrophages used investigate oxidized lipoprotein-induced foam cell formation vitro. Treatment affect uptake cells. The addition relative mRNA inflammation-associated genes when lipopolysaccharide. destructive vascular endothelium, we stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) (ox-LDL). Ox-LDL alter expression monocyte chemotactic protein-1 adhesion molecule-1. Furthermore, combined ox-LDL stimulation SR-A1 ABCA1 HUVECs. Conclusions: Our provides first evidence does promote increase intravascular exacerbate degree stability ApoE mice.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease initiated by biofilm microorganisms and mediated host immune imbalance. Uncontrolled periodontal infections are the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. Thrombotic diseases can lead to partial or complete obstruction blood flow circulatory system, manifesting as organ tissue ischemia necrosis patients with arterial thrombosis, local edema, pain instability venous which may mortality fatality severe case. Recent studies found that periodontitis might enhance thrombosis through bacterial transmission systemic inflammation affecting platelet-immune cell interactions, well coagulation, therapy could have prophylactic effect on thrombotic diseases. In this review, we summarized clinical findings association between discussed several novel prothrombotic periodontitis-related agents, presented perspective emphasize necessity oral health management for people at high risk thrombosis.

Introduction. The impact of circulating amino acid levels and their combinations on the pathogenesis ischemic heart disease atrial fibrillation is a current issue, otherwise, platelets spectrum still under discussion, despite known pathogenetic role in these disorders. Aim. To compare changes plasma patients with coronary artery as well to find connections. Materials & Methods. 300 were divided into 3 groups: I group – 149 without arrhythmias, II 124 paroxysm, control 27 arrhythmias. Plasma platelet detected by means ion exchange liquid column chromatography. Results Conclusions. In spectrum, significant rise leucine (12.63%), isoleucine (10.73%), Fishers’ ratio (6.37%); decrease threonine (23.05%), valine (30.83%) levels, glycine (32.21%), serine (5.06%), glycine+serine sum (20.51%) 2 was found compared 1, p<0.05. acids increase glutamate, branched-chain acids, checked comparison Only 10 moderate strength correlations revealed between investigated patient’s groups. These not significantly congruent fibrillation. should be analyzed separately for further studies evaluation new prognostic markers clues development.
