Participation in competitive sports has been shown to enhance children's mental health. However, evidence regarding the impact of group within traditional physical education on development is scarce. This study designed a team-building-focused program and examined its effects resilience rural students. A total 86 elementary school students (mean age: 11 years) were cluster-randomized into intervention control groups. Both groups participated regular classes three times per week. In group, first 15-min warm-up period was replaced with games. From social perspective, all games subtly encourage children forge new relationships by engaging contact, interacting team members, collaborating achieve shared goals sportsmanlike manner. Resilience assessed using Scale for Chinese Adolescents before after 12-week intervention. After 12 weeks, showed significant improvements affect control, positive thinking, help-seeking compared group. Overall, both individual supportive dimensions improved following participation team-building Whether winning or losing as member, these experiences positively emotional regulation, their understanding roles team, concern distressed other.
