Abstract A developing society requires polycaprolactam (PA6) fibers with flame retardant. Currently, the additive retardants commonly used in PA6 cannot solve molten droplet problem. In this work, (1 E ,1 ′ )‐ N , N′ ‐(6‐phenyl‐1,3,5‐triazine‐2,4‐diyl) bis (1‐(4‐methoxyphenyl) methanimine) (NBM) triazine ring structure was synthesized. The to expand into carbon and benzoguanimine produce irreversible chemical crosslinking NBM, thereby achieving anti‐dripping retardant of fiber. LOI PA6/NBM 8 reaches 30.0 vol.%, UL‐94 V‐0 when NBM addition amount is wt.%, meanwhile, residual content 235.7% higher than that PA6. mechanical strength can still reach 3.22 cN/dTex. From structural design synthesis, effects on retardants, rheology, thermal stability morphology x were analyzed detail work. It hoped future characteristics performance requirements be matched provide reference for conception synthesis oriented other polymers.

ABSTRACT Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and intumescent flame‐retardant di‐(3‐amin‐opropyltriethoxysilane) spirocyclic pentaerythritol diphosphate (PDAP) were prepared as an flame retardant with synergistic effect, polylactic acid (PLA) was modified by melt blending. The retardancy of PLA/PDAP/APP evaluated limiting oxygen index (LOI), vertical combustion test (UL‐94), cone calorimetry (CCT), the thermal stability studied thermogravimetric analysis thermogravimetry‐Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). possible mechanisms analyzed based on results laser Raman FTIR. When PDAP:APP = 2:1 addition amount PDAP/APP is 20 wt%, LOI value PLA/IFR‐modified material high 43%, UL‐94 reaches V‐0 level, in CCT, PHRR THR (2:1)‐modified are reduced 80.7% 76.8%, respectively, compared pure PLA, carbon residue 62.01%. show that compound APP/PDAP has excellent effect which provides a good research case for PLA flame‐retardant‐modified plastic materials.

The application of continuous glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene thermoplastic composites (GF/PP) is limited due to the inadequate flame retardancy (PP) matrix. Apart from altering composition retardants, distribution modes retardants also impact material performance. In this study, an alternative approach involving non-uniform proposed, namely, dispersed distribution, in which non-flame-retardant-content layers (NFRLs) and/or low-flame-retardant-content (LFRLs) are among high-flame-retardant-content (HFRLs). mechanical, retardant and dielectric properties GF/PP with intumescent (IFR/GF/PP) investigated comparatively under uniform, gradient, distributions retardants. results demonstrate that exhibits superior performance compared uniform distribution. Dispersed enables IFR/GF/PP attain enhanced mechanical reduced constants while maintaining excellent flame-retardant properties.

Abstract A novel thermoplastic elastomer, kernel resin (KN), α‐nucleating agent (HPN), and β‐nucleating (DCHT), which acted as toughener nucleating agents (NAs), were used to improve the mechanical properties crystallization behaviors of isotactic polypropylene (PP). The impact strength PP/KN blends increased significantly with increase in KN concentration. Surprisingly, PP/KN/NA improved further upon addition NA. toughening effect DCHT was stronger than that HPN. maximum PP/KN/DCHT blend reached 69.2 kJ/m 2 when content 0.05%, six times higher neat PP. SEM images fractured surfaces showed a change from brittle fracture ductile fracture. Moreover, WAXD results incorporation HPN promoted formation α form crystalline Addition induced generation α‐β crystal transition Furthermore, differential scanning calorimetry crystallizability overall rate PP enhanced by half‐crystallization time at 128°C decreased 5.52 (neat PP) 0.34 min (PP/KN/DCHT‐0.3).
