Mild steel (MS) is one of the most widely used materials in industry. But, this metal corrodes easily, especially acidic solutions. Therefore, protection critical. The use inhibitors practical and economical ways achieving this. corrosion inhibition performance Pyronin B (PyB) for mild was investigated 1 M HCl solution using change open circuit potential with exposure time (Eocp-t), potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) linear polarization resistance (LPR) techniques. surface MS examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), atomic force (AFM) contact angle measurements. stability PyB film formed on cyclic voltammetry (CV). excess charge inhibited estimated help EIS studies. experimental data were supported theoretical approaches such as density functional theory (DFT) calculations, molecular dynamics (MD) Monte Carlo simulations. It found that forms a uniformly distributed, dense, protective organic surface. molecules interact through combination physical chemical interactions, latter being dominant. acts mixed-type inhibitor, more pronounced effect anodic mechanism.
