Abstract ZnNb 2 O 6 and a heterojunction /SnO have been synthesized, characterized, studied for its photocatalytic activity against organic pharmaceutical pollutants under UV irradiation. The characterization techniques include X‐ray Diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet‐visible reflectance spectroscopy (UV–vis DRS), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), photoluminescence spectra (PL), photoelectron (XPS). XRD confirms single phase formation. particles sizes of are in range 170–200 nm 110–140 nm, respectively. Bandgaps as revealed by UV–vis DRS the 3.14–3.71 eV. n‐n type semiconductor shows enhanced than individual components degradation due to more effective charge carrier separation. rate is twice that components. Methyl orange pathways proposed using HRMS analysis. This first report antibiotic .
