The utilization of plant extracts as environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors has garnered considerable interest in the field metallic protection. primary objective this study was to explore a new approach for utilizing Dillenia suffruticosa leaves extract (DSLE) provide protection mild steel (MS) molar hydrochloric acid solution. phytocompounds responsible prevention were extracted using ethanol with Soxhlet apparatus. effectiveness inhibitor evaluated through gravimetric and electrochemical methods, along surface analysis corroded samples. This involved use scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) examine specimens without addition inhibitor. findings demonstrate that DSLE exhibits notable efficacy MS an acidic environment. inhibition efficiency (IE) demonstrates positive correlation concentration extract, ultimately reaching maximum value 81.4% at optimum 1000 mg/L investigated.
