With the wide application of laser weapons, requirements protection technology are becoming more and strict. Therefore, it is important to find ideal optical limiting (OL) materials protect human eyes detectors. In this work, nonlinear responses gold nanoparticles/porous carbon (Au NPs/PC) nanocomposites prepared by reduction method were studied using nanosecond Z-scan technique. Compared with porous carbon, Au NPs/PC show a lower damage threshold, bigger index wider absorption spectrum. The interaction between nanoparticles enhances scattering effect suspended bubbles.
