Abstract This review examines recent advancements in surface treatment technologies for aluminum alloys used sports equipment. We discuss conventional methods like chemical conversion coatings and anodizing, as well emerging techniques such plasma electrolytic oxidation, physical vapor deposition, laser modification. The replacement of toxic hexavalent chromium with eco-friendly alternatives is highlighted a key development. also explore the potential smart, self-healing to extend equipment lifespan. Our analysis reveals that while significant progress has been made enhancing corrosion resistance mechanical properties, challenges remain scaling up advanced treatments industrial implementation. concludes continued innovation will be crucial improving performance, safety, sustainability applications, ultimately benefiting athletes manufacturers alike.
