Abstract To attain superior fire safety epoxy resins (EP), aluminum diethylphosphonate (AlPi) and nickel alginate were incorporated to EP in different proportions. The synergistic flame retardant effects between AlPi on mechanical properties of investigated detail. EP/AlPi 9.5 ‐Nickel Alginate 0.5 acquired the UL‐94 V‐0 rating with highest limiting oxygen index value (28.9%). Besides, thermal decomposition behaviors samples researched by thermogravimetric analysis, implying that EP/AlPi‐Nickel exhibited better stability char‐forming ability. Compared EP, peak heat release rate total declined 58.3% 12.8%. And addition reduced smoke. In particular, incorporation increased impact strength, flexural strength glass transition temperature EP. perspective, effect bio‐based opens a practicable avenue decreasing risk improving

The direct coordination between polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) and Co forms an assembly of nanoparticles with low specific surface area leads to a poor dispersion state in the epoxy resin matrix, resulting unsatisfactory flame-retardant efficiency. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), for instance, ZIF-67, provide not only cobalt element but also porous framework that endows nanocomposite MOFs POSS high abundant sites silica skeleton. Herein, ZIF-67 is hybridized octacarboxyl POSS, removal alkaline ligand form novel metal POSS-organic (MPOFs). size differences organic groups nanocages vs. micropores gave rise reverse click reaction, reforming octavinyl isolated on outer complex, which could be further modified by phosphorous flame retardant using addition reaction. obtained MPOFs-P 2 wt % loading improve limiting oxygen index value composites 27.0% pass V-0 rating UL-94 test. Meanwhile, peaks heat release rate especially total smoke production were reduced 46.6 25.2%, respectively. robust char layer reduces emission toxic gas CO 39.8%. above product promising retardancy improved mechanical properties, thanks filler unique nanostructure. ingenious work offers enlightenment hybridization method fabricate multielement system efficacy.

Although the bismaleimide (BMI) resin is a star material in industries, its further applications have been plagued by serious brittleness and fire hazard for long time. Hence, core–shell architecture (MPPM) derived from covalent triazine frameworks was designed to overcome shortcomings. Excitedly, compared those of neat BMI, resultant BMI-2 with only 1 wt % MPPM capable achieving 23.4%, 48.6%, 39.7% decrements on peak heat release rate, total release, smoke respectively, exhibiting unprecedented flame-retardant effects under low addition flame retardants. Besides, impact strength enhanced 62.7% close tensile storage modulus implying that toughness BMI improved successfully without sacrificing rigidity. This work provided unique clue designing efficient multifunctional modifiers promoted development advanced BMI.
