Abstract In this paper, we proposed a method for utilizing multisource solid wastes to create valuable product of porous fly ash/red mud/slag‐based geopolymer composite, combining hydrogen peroxide foaming and hollow Al 2 O 3 microspheres (HAMs). The effects high temperatures (600–1200°C), addition, HAMs on the microstructure characteristics composites were examined. Before exposure, had an amorphous matrix with porosity ranging from 32.5% 75.2% compressive strength between 0.72 22.38 MPa. was improved by fractured spheres, crack deflection, good bond state matrix. After being exposed above 800°C, samples crystallized ceramics improvement. lowest thermal conductivity 0.393 0.248 W/(m·K) before after respectively. This hybrid composite exhibited properties even which provided simple fabricating ceramic used in insulation areas.
