Abstract
The
energy
absorbing
box
plays
the
role
of
buffering
absorption
in
process
frontal
collision
automobiles,
but
current
structure
is
single,
and
effect
limited.
In
this
study,
honeycomb
was
filled
into
a
thin-walled
square
tube
to
design
new
type
automotive
box.
Firstly,
finite
element
model
established
with
vehicle
as
research
object,
crashworthiness
defects
under
condition
are
pointed
out.
Next,
two
filling
forms
boxes
were
designed,
compared
through
impact
simulation,
followed
by
multi-objective
optimization
further
enhance
their
performance.
Finally,
original
replaced
honeycomb-filled
design.
A
simplified
used
compare
before
after
replacement.
results
showed
that,
replacement,
vehicle's
acceleration
decreased
11.49%,
occupant
compartment
intrusion
reduced
17.48%,
ratio
increased
12.51%.
Crashworthiness
safety
have
been
improved.
