Concrete is a fundamental material in construction, demanding high strength and workability for modern engineering structures. However, conventional cement production contributes significantly to CO2 emissions, prompting the exploration of eco-friendly alternatives. Several industrial by-products, such as fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), silica fume, metakaolin, have cementitious qualities can be used binding agents concrete. In our research, we aim find ways substitute these particularly ash GGBS, concrete order reduce consumption. Blast furnaces produce fine powder that subsequently into byproduct. Fly has pozzolanic qualities, but it also provides materials utilized make cement. Industrial by-products like (GGBS) offer promising substitutes traditional This study investigates incorporation 20% 30% GGBS concrete, evaluating its mechanical properties over 7, 14, 28 days. Results show green exhibits comparable or superior compressive, flexural, split tensile strengths with lower carbon emissions cost. The underscores concrete's potential an environmentally sustainable cost-effective alternative construction.

The development of novel materials made from waste is one the main measures to achieve sustainable development. In this study, ash mushroom and corn straw (MCA) furnace slag (FS) were used as raw prepare alkali-activated biomass ash-slag material (AABS) ecological non-sintered ceramsite (SENC). paper, effects quicklime powder (QL), NaOH, sodium silicate solution (SS) on AABS analyzed using single factor orthogonal tests, preferred ratio composite alkali activator configuration was established. SENC prepared based activator, microstructure phase composition explored XRD SEM–EDS. results showed that 3wt% QL enhanced early age compressive strength AABS. best configured when additions QL, SS 3%, 2%, 15%, respectively. At configuration, 28 d 47.4 MPa, most internal pores less than 0.4 μm; 28d numerical tube pressure reached 12.2 MPa with a softening coefficient 0.96. According SEM–EDS, contained various hydration products such C-A-S-H, calcium hemicarboaluminate, hydrotalcite, portlandite, vaterite. largest proportion which contributed pore refinement structural densification. has potential be coarse aggregate in lightweight concrete.
