In the cement industry, search for more economical binders using waste and natural resources has become crucial to overcome shortage of Portland respect environment. Algeria significant potential in such as perlite, a volcanic rock that can be finely ground used an active mineral additive production reduce release CO2. This study examines benefits feasibility perlite partial substitute mortar manufacturing, with volume substitution rates 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% 25%. Tests were carried out evaluate physical, mechanical thermal behavior, including consistency, setting time, workability, capillary absorption, strength conductivity. The results obtained indicate presence increases water requirement, accelerates time fresh state improves absorption hardened state. long term, containing develops resistance greater than reference (0% perlite) which proportionally increase percentage used. addition, perlite-based presents interesting physical properties, highlighting advantages insulator interest reinforcing this ecological addition.

Dam reservoirs are exposed to a loss of water storage capacity due the phenomenon siltation. This particularity can be expressed by siltation and entrainment particles transported watercourses. Siltation is critical state which causes reduction in dams. Algeria characterized semi-arid climate, annually loses considerable volume storage. The carbonation concrete influenced number parameters accelerate its kinetics. These porosity concrete, quantity lime contained cement, concentration CO2 atmosphere humidity environment. It should noted that, being vector for moving aggressive agents, carbon dioxide only diffuse through if latter not completely saturated perfectly dry at same time. Another factor increasing permeability amount limestone added cement during manufacture factory. allows diffusion or other agents concrete. addition must therefore used with caution. objective propose economically competitive easy-to-implement formulations allow valorization these materials making ordinary partial substitution (10, 20 30%) influence on progress long-term after six years curing open air. sediment treated calcination 750°C make it active. Natural tests were carried out study concretes order evaluate their durability. results obtained confirmed possibility producing incorporating calcined sludge dosages up 30% without compromising quality from point view behavior face attacks dissolution air interstitial solution meeting economic, ecological technological objectives.
