The growing production of glass fibers is a major challenge due to the later problem their sustainable recycling. This article reports potential use post-production waste and basalt powder as additives in resin compounds designed for repairing concrete elements. aim this research was develop repair compound based on epoxy with addition materials, offering competitive alternative currently available market by utilizing lower-cost materials addressing pro-environmental aspects through reuse. prepared samples were characterized varying proportions (0–20%), ground HP 12 (40/60%), 6 (10/20%). A series tests, including tensile strength conducted part study determine effect applied ultimate force maximum deformations. Abrasion resistance tests also carried out evaluate impact filler enhancing abrasion compound. Additionally, SEM EDS analyses used uniformity distribution within sample. examined containing percentages fibers, both virgin milled. most significant reinforcement observed sample E/20HP/20bp, where its decreased 8%, while increased 44% compared reference obtained results confirm that incorporating into can significantly enhance mechanical properties reducing cost promoting environmental protection. In addition, developed complies selected principles 6Rs regulations: RECYCLING (reuse fibers), RETHINK (reduce avoiding landfill), REDUCE (minimize compounds) REPAIR (increase efficiency damaged structures). Furthermore, percentage increases, improves. may serve an bridges factory floors.

The reuse of by-products as alternative raw materials to traditional construction is required in order ensure sustainable development the sector and a significant important focus fields science. This study developed geopolymers using from mining, ceramics, olive industries, including slate stone cutting sludge (SSCS) chamotte (CH) aluminosilicate sources, biomass bottom ash (OSBA) an alkaline activator with sodium silicate. A key novelty research lies use SSCS, underexplored by-product geopolymerization studies, viable source. were prepared varying weight ratios CH, OSBA/Na₂SiO₃ (1.7, 1.9, 2.2, 2.4). Physical mechanical tests determined optimal formulation, while FTIR SEM analyses revealed material’s chemical structural evolution. analysis detected quartz carbonate phases, indicating incomplete dissolution formation during calcination. dense microstructure reduced porosity enhanced samples higher OSBA content. geopolymer (60% OSBA, 30% ratio 2.2) achieved compressive strength 33.1 MPa after 28 days. These findings demonstrate feasibility producing promoting industrial alternatives conventional binders.

The sustainable development of building materials is based on reusing by-products to reduce environmental impact and promote alternatives traditional materials. In this study, geopolymers were developed from the mining, ceramic, thermal industries: slate stone cutting sludge (SSCS) chamotte (CH) as aluminosilicate sources, olive bottom ash (OSBA) an alkaline activator, combined with sodium silicate (Na2SiO3). Eight geopolymer families prepared constant amounts SSCS CH varying proportions OSBA/Na2SiO3 (0.88–1.31). evaluation phase included physical, chemical, mechanical, microstructural tests. results showed that optimum formulation (GP E) contained 25% SSCS, 15% CH, 19% OSBA a Na2SiO3/OSBA ratio 1.0, achieving compressive strength 24.12 MPa after 28 days curing. GP E also lowest porosity (19.54%), minimal water absorption (6.86%), favorable conductivity (0.688 W/mK). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confirmed formation dense homogeneous matrices. These demonstrate feasibility manufacturing using substitutes for binders, promoting practices, industrial by-products, reducing carbon emissions in construction.

The utilization of volcanic powders, specifically basalt powders (BPs), as filler materials in the synthesis geopolymers has gained significant attention recent years. This study aims to investigate potential application (BPs) process develop more environmentally friendly structural materials. A comparative analysis was conducted, beginning with reference samples-geopolymers formulated exclusively from metakaolin and alkali-activated incorporating various types BPs supplemented differing amounts metakaolin. characterized by evaluating parameters such volume density, compressive strength, flexural strength. most advantageous results, addition those achieved (MK), were observed for samples a material ratio 1:2:10 (NaOH: Na₂SiO₃:BP + MK) curing temperature 20 °C, irrespective type BP quantity MK included. Furthermore, inclusion resulted cost reduction up 80%, enhancing competitiveness against traditional Portland cement.
