This study reports the synthesis and characterization of two solvatochromic pentacyanoferrate(II) complexes. Their structural design incorporates ligands with flexible xylylene bridges distinct heterocycles—one combining 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) 4,4′-bipyridine, other isoquinoline 4,4′-bipyridine. diversity enables complexes to engage in a broad range solvent–solute interactions, providing valuable insights into behavior solvents media regard polarity, through sizable shifts. solvatochromism is examined using set nine solvent mixtures. The sensitivities polarity changes, expressed variety parameters functions, are determined. Moreover, four complementary linear solvation energy relationships (LSERs), roles solute–solvent interactions molecular responsiveness compounds different investigated. Additionally, their dipole moments ground MLCT-excited states determined suitable model, namely that Suppan Tsiamis. As step further, sensing aptitude aqueous urea solutions at varying concentrations. sensitivity compared model cyanoferrate(II) complex, FeII(CN)2(phen)2. clearly surpass FeII(CN)2(phen)2 subtle changes induced by concentration. An LSER describing predicting effects developed tested.
