Conventional micro-surfacing materials often delaminate, crack, or peel. These defects shorten pavement life. High-performance polymer-modified mixtures are essential for rapid maintenance. We added waterborne epoxy resin (WER) at different dosages to styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) create a composite-modified mixture. A series of laboratory comparative tests were conducted investigate the effect WER content on overall performance WER-SBR In addition, microstructure was observed analyze mechanism by which emulsified asphalt enhances material performance, and optimal dosage determined. The results showed that higher improved abrasion rutting resistance but gains plateaued above 6% WER. Below 9% WER, good water stability; 3-6% they also maintained skid low-temperature crack resistance. Notably, when approximately 6%, mixture significantly reduced damage after exposure freeze-thaw cycles, moisture, salt spray conditions. SEM images confirmed creates uniform film over aggregates, boosting performance. Therefore, we recommend This study has developed product with excellent It holds significant practical value extending service life improving road quality.
