Abiotic stress is one of the key factors harming global agriculture today, seriously affecting growth and yield vegetables. Pepper most widely grown vegetable in world, with both high nutritional economic values. Currently, increase extreme weather events has heightened frequency abiotic stresses, such as drought, low temperatures, waterlogging, salt levels, which impairs pepper development, leading to its reduced quality. In this review, we summarize research progress on responses recent years terms physiology, biochemistry, molecular level, mitigation measures. We then explore existing problems propose future directions. This work provides a reference for cultivation development new varieties resistant stress.
