Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) and iron-oxidizing (IOB) are one of the typical representatives anaerobic aerobic bacteria, which can form a synergistic community (mixed species biofilm) on surface material. In this work, corrosion behavior X65 steel in seawater containing SRB IOB was investigated with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Results showed that combination affected greatly, rate higher than single or medium. The mechanisms mixed could be divided into three stages, were controlled by metabolic activities (SRB IOB), biofilm structure products comprehensively.
