Abstract Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) corrosion of X80 steel welded joint under organic carbon source starvation was investigated in the paper. The results showed that number planktonic cells is much less than sessile after 720 h immersion. base metal (BM) medium with 1% largest. Starving SRB accelerated simultaneously uniform and localized joints, acceleration effect on latter higher former. In all mediums, density average depth pits BM weld zone (WZ) were larger those heat affected (HAZ). strongly selective, further enhanced selectivity.

The use of exclusion fencing as part wildlife conservation programs has been increasing in recent years, particularly Australia. Soil corrosion damage sustained on fences is a significant management concern the weakened fence netting can provide opportunities for feral animal incursions into fenced safe havens. corrosivity risk mapping assist with design nature reserves to reduce frequency repair and replacement. However, very little research focused developing methods accurately predicting rates different surface soil environments. This paper assesses attributes indicators identifying areas low, moderate high environments present South Australia (20 field sites). Zinc measured zinc-aluminium samples (buried at sites 9 months) ranged by factor nearly 50, low (0.1–0.7 µm/year) observed five sites, medium (0.7–2.1 10 extreme (>8.4 four sites. Fence was predicted using pH, salinity texture data, index developed arid soils Predicted zinc matched observations 45 % highest (>4.2 were highly alkaline (pH > 8.5) saline (ECe ≥ 5 dS/m) soils. An improved classification method, referred Corrosion Risk Decision Tree these pH thresholds, which correctly 67 Olympic Dam Farina 50 Yorke Peninsula. Abstract Electrochemical and surface analysis methods were used to investigate the pitting susceptibility propagation of as‐received dry‐wet cycle exposed 5083 aluminum alloy (AA5083) specimens. We find that exposure can reduce corrosion potential, while increasing current density, potential ( E p ), passivation range. The behavior during process depends on temperature time. Increased time result in reduced percentage altitude decreased microhardness products, which promotes sensitivity AA5083. underlying mechanism is proposed by employing morphology microstructures products.
