Combining the efficient barrier and self-repairing effects into 2D lamellar materials has been an emerging tactic for developing prominent anti-corrosion coatings. Herein, a cerium/2-methylimidazole metal-organic framework (Ce-MOF) was grown in-situ on surface of ultrathin α-ZrP nanosheets with favorable dispersibility. The parallel arrangement α-ZrP-based among epoxy polymer matrix were driven by shear force from blade-coating technology. In current research composite anti-corrosive coatings, prepared coating demonstrated strongest physical optimal ability, which may pave feasible route to design smart protective coatings various corrosion types such as filiform corrosion.

Extensive utilization in various settings poses extra requirements of coatings beyond just anticorrosion properties. Herein, 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) intercalated CaAl-based layered double hydroxide (CaAl-8HQ-LDH) was loaded on reduced GO (rGO) through a one-pot hydrothermal reaction, which employed as the nanofiller endowing epoxy (EP/CaAl-8HQ LDH@rGO) with excellent flame-retardancy while ensuring efficient protection for mild steel. Results electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) demonstrated durability EP/CaAl-8HQ LDH@rGO-coated specimen, at lowest frequency (|Z|0.01Hz) maintained 1.84 × 1010 Ω cm2 after 120 days immersion 3.5 wt % NaCl solution. Even scratched LDH@rGO system, only slight decline |Z|0.01Hz observed during 180 h exposure to solution, indicating self-healing feature supported by salt spray tests. UL-94 burning tests revealed V-0 rating improved thermostability. Strong physical barrier from two-dimensional rGO and release 8-HQ LDH interlayers accounted anticorrosive However, O2-concentration dilution charring-layer promotion governed flame-retardant behavior nanocomposite coating. The intercomponent synergy nanofillers achieved this work may provide useful reference designing multifunctional coatings.

The main goal of this study is to develop an epoxy coating coupled with organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposite that can be used as a corrosion-inhibiting pigment on carbon steel. Herein, polypyrrole nanotubes (PPy-NTs), nanotubes/g-C3N4 (PPy-NTs/g-C3N4) and novel nano-composite nanotubes/g-C3N4/ZnO (PGZ) were prepared by facile wet impregnation approach. developed pigments investigated using XRD, FTIR, FE-SEM equipped EDS. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) polarization measurements assess the behavior anticorrosion performance resin coatings. EIS experiments revealed introducing nano-pigments neat coatings enhanced charge transfer resistance. three was assessed follows: PGZ ˃ PPy-NTs/g-C3N4˃ PPy-NTs.
