This study systematically investigated the impact of Gd on corrosion resistance Al–9Si–0.4Mg–0.025Sr alloy in a 3.5 wt-% NaCl solution using electrochemical tests and immersion analysis. The results show that AS2 containing 0.4 exhibited best resistance. Electrochemical has highest potential smallest capacitive arc radius, demonstrating its superior to initiation propagation. Immersion morphology analysis revealed minimal pit formation slower rate occurred compared other alloys. Microstructural showed promoted protective Al 3 phases eutectic Si particles matrix, thereby enhancing passivation inhibiting Furthermore, galvanic coupling between matrix accelerated localised dissolution, while mitigated this effect by stabilising oxide films decreasing cathodic activity.

Purpose This study aims to investigate the effects of different heat treatment processes on microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior 7050 aluminum alloy. Design/methodology/approach The hardness, properties, fracture morphology alloy their interrelations under various conditions were systematically analyzed. Electrochemical tests (open-circuit potential polarization curves) used influence Findings treated at 475 °C for 2 h followed by aging 120 24 exhibited best properties. tendency increased initially then decreased as time increased. current density samples aged 0.5 was higher, indicating poor resistance; reached its maximum aging, while resistance significantly improved after 48 72 h. Originality/value provides a theoretical basis technical support optimizing process improving reliability in practical applications.
