ABSTRACT Background Monitoring biodiversity is crucial in biogeography. Citizen science and platforms have revolutionized data access across taxa, but they struggle to provide robust raw essential for conservation decisions. Aims This study addresses gaps under‐represented species locations, observer expertise variability, the lack of absence sampling effort information improve representation suitability statistical analyses. Materials & Methods We collected, compared IUCN‐recognized taxonomic groups, all worldwide living being (animal, plant fungi) observations held by four major platforms: eBird, GBIF, iNaturalist, Observation.org . also organized such country origin based on their Human Development Index (HDI). Results found that, while cover life forms, birds are most observed (eBird a bird‐specific platform), whereas fish, other marine organisms, arthropods, invertebrates dramatically underrepresented. Moreover, none above‐mentioned considered or directly analysed variability among observers and, apart from three do not accommodate effort. Discussion Conclusion Finally, we that this skewed towards high HDI countries, primarily North America Europe. By enhancing effectiveness platforms, has potential significantly advance field biogeography, paving way more informed effective strategies. Overall, our findings underscore untapped these contributing understanding spatial temporal patterns biodiversity.

Abstract Serious Games (SG) have shown potential as transformative tools in sustainability research. Despite the diverse and widespread adoption of SG multifunctional within collaborative forms knowledge production, their contribution to research processes is underexplored. Likewise, selection, alignment, integration appropriate tailored specific stages a process lacks clear guidelines. To fill this gap, we aim map We propose facilitate assessment alignment guide based on three dimensions: complexity levels, engagement generic processes. This study explores organizes space uses aforementioned dimensions. It provides guidelines each SG's suitability its process. operationalizes proposed conceptual mapping with help two examples. Future work should empirically validate approach across contexts address scalability, long-term impacts, ethical considerations resource-constrained settings.

Diverse stakeholders in rural landscapes commonly have distinct and often conflicting needs interests for the available water resources resulting complex human-water interactions, especially water-scarce regions. In such landscapes, resolving among individual viewpoints moving toward collective human–water perspectives is paramount to achieving sustainable management of decreasing resources. Serious games been proposed as participatory tools (social) learning contested however impact approaches on understudied. This study addresses this knowledge gap by evaluating ENGAGE (Exploring New Gaming Approach Guide Enlighten) game a tool fostering perspectives. The Upper Ewaso Ng’iro basin Kenya was selected area its social-ecological dynamics, characterized interplay climatic variability, competing demands, governance challenges that shape resource management. Through five sessions, participants’ were assessed at three points time: pre-game, post-game, post-post-game, using Q-method. Findings indicate serious gaming enhanced awareness catchment-scale challenges, particularly influence geographic location, economic drivers, illegal abstractions availability. While immediate post-game assessments showed shifts perspectives, long-term follow-ups revealed partial reversion pre-game opinions, emphasizing need sustained engagement. contributes literature interactions demonstrating potential promoting experiential stakeholder engagement governance. findings are relevant socio-hydrological scientists, managers, policymakers seeking innovative conflict resolution

Pro-environmental behaviour is worth researching to understand the relationship between consumer behaviours and environmentally friendly consumptions. This research aims investigate impact of citizen science on pro-environmental citizenship when environmental attitude, knowledge, awareness intermediaries in an emerging market like Thailand. The sample 394 Thai citizens was collected from main provinces different regions Thailand, including Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Lamphun, Phuket. PLS-SEM employed test study hypotheses by applying structural equation modelling approach analyse data. findings show that there a positive awareness, knowledge towards behaviour. also reveals these mediated relationships play pivotal role translating consciousness into actionable support sustainable use consumption. Furthermore, increased plays crucial recognising urgency importance engaging practices. Awareness acts as catalyst, prompting individuals reflect their consumption patterns lifestyle choices, ultimately leading more behaviours. Marketers may implement it with green marketing strategies increasing favourable products within consumers.
