Cities are recognized as significant contributors to carbon emissions due their numerous productive enterprises and dense populations. Tackling climate change achieving the transformation low-carbon cities requires public participation. News media serve primary channel for gain relevant information, journalists’ attitudes significantly influence content of related news reports. This study focuses on Chinese journalists towards transition cities, using semi-structured interviews in qualitative research conduct 31 with participants from mainstream medias. discussed city transition, based our samples studies, we find that (1) development brings some new opportunities economic improving overall urban living environment, despite challenges like lack professional knowledge information gaps. (2) Newsworthiness, audience preferences, scientific knowledge, management mechanisms, key factors influencing choice cover topics. Despite an increase reports, many do not prioritize or transitions core topics, environmental have a life cycle. (3) We suggests enhance collaboration stakeholders, interaction learn diverse voices, storytelling integrating technological innovations improve communication. highlights complex interactions between media, participation, policies, offering holistic view promoting more inclusive equitable transition.

The extraction of ecological corridors is influenced by the accuracy source area identification, which a crucial component security construction. areas Weihe River Basin (WRB) were comprehensively identified analyzing supply, demand, and sensitivity ecosystem services. Different initial populations set using genetic algorithm to determine optimal for WRB. minimum cumulative resistance model (MCR) was used extract corridors, then comparison made before after. results showed that within WRB covered approximately 43.362 × 103 km2 in 2020, accounting 32.38% entire area. This included mainly forest, grassland, small amount farmland, 89.3% forest. Abstract This paper explores community perspectives on forest landscape restoration (FLR) initiatives and their impacts ecosystems, livelihoods social cohesion. The study is based data collected from 08 focus group discussions (FGDs) conducted in local communities involved FLR activities. A coding process was used to identify key themes patterns that shed light the of FLR. results show have led cohesion conflict resolution, including establishment community-based organizations (CBOs), involvement volunteers various tasks, a cooperative/collaborative approach management, empowerment communities. In addition, showed FLRs successfully regenerated restored ecosystem, biodiversity, plant diversity, improvement animal populations livestock health, soil water quality. Ecosystem has improved livelihoods, increased crop productivity, access education, affordable health care, economic conditions, food security. Based findings, policy recommendations include strengthening support for initiatives, promoting stakeholder collaboration, equity.

The diverse landscape of global land use and cover (LULC) change studies were evaluated to uncover the current advances in data future research potential through bibliometrics Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach. A total 2710 published articles with search phrase "Land Land change" OR "Land-use use/Land changes" retrieved using Scopus, Web Science (WOS), ScienceDirect databases from 1993 2022. findings indicated a 24.37% annual growth rate LULC studies, reflecting rapid overall increase articles. China USA emerged as most influential countries regarding article numbers, citations, single-country publications. Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa, among top 20 rankings underscore importance this research. However, disparity output between multiple-country publications dominant trend highlights geographical bias particularly Global South. This finding underscores need more balanced approach can stimulate further investigation. results also revealed that remote sensing, rapidly growing field utilising advanced computing techniques, is prevalent keyword has significant applications reducing degradation. These significantly enhance research, climate policy programs, management, forest ecology planning, which are crucial face demand agriculture habitable land.

We use panel data 3367 from two emerging economies Southeast Asia collected three survey waves for empirical analyses. generalized structural equation model latent capacity. Then, results fixed-effects estimations show that lagged is significantly negatively correlated with losses caused by different types shocks. Moreover, control function approach indicate an improvement prevent falling into absolute multidimensional terms.
