The Songliao Basin is one of the largest non-marine oil- and gas-bearing basins that developed during Cretaceous period, recording an almost complete stratigraphy. With oil gas exploration, as well Continental Scientific Drilling Project (CCSD-SK) (2006–21), significant progress has been made on stratigraphy Basin. therefore important for understanding system. Based lithostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy, biostratigraphy, geochronology, magnetostratigraphy cyclostratigraphy, a comprehensive stratigraphical framework established in this study. Lower strata (Hauterivian–Albian) basin are dominated by volcanic–sedimentary deposits, while lower-middle Upper (Cenomanian mid-Campanian) lacustrine deposits. upper (late Campanian–Maastrichtian) fluvial–lacustrine Fossils very abundant Basin, three biotas – Jehol Biota sensu lato , Songhuajiang Mingshui recognized Furthermore, several geological events, such lake anoxic seawater incursion events K/Pg boundary extinction all recorded
